The love for the Camaros started when I was a kid. I grew up in a small town on a small farm located in the Central Valley of California. There was a disassembled Camaro or Firebird (they looked similar to me when I was a kid) perched on top of a muffler shop near my home town. It only had the shell with the doors, trunk lid and hood all the rest was removed.  I always thought to myself, "How can I get that car and put it back together."  I also had a friend who's brother owned either a 67 or 68 Camaro.  All I really remember of that car is that it was driven hard.

Cars have been a family thing.  My father has owned some really cool cars in his time.  I just wish he kept all of them.  Even though most of the cars he owned were Mopars (Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth).  My mother and him owned a 55 Nomad before I was born, but dad hated that car. That is one of the cars I wished he kept.  My best friend and I always joke with eachother and say we must of been switched at birth because she is a Mopar girl and I'm a Chevy lover. I have to admit that there are a few Mopars I wouldn't mind having.

I would really like to purchase a 1969 RS Convertible, but the prices are getting really outragous. Thanks to Barrett Jackson. "The Bastards". They are the same old car they were 40 years ago and people think they are rare.  They need to look again.  They are every where.  I've kept a registry and there are too many 69 Camaro's to even count that are still out there.  Anyhow, It's too hard for the average person like me to be able to purchase one anymore.  There are so many greedy ass people who are money hungry who really don't care about the car and who only buy them for investments. Unlike people like my friends who I've met through my website and my good friend Bob (he bought one of my Camaros),  and myself, who trully have a love for the car.  Okay, I'm done ranting for now.

Well, my first 1969 Camaro was an LA built Camaro.  Awesome car. I bought it for $1800.00.  I had to redo the interior, but the car was solid.  It had dark green delux interior and factory 350 small block with turbo 350 automatic transmission. It also had a 10 bolt non possi rear end.  It was originally factory Forest Green but the previous owner painted it a dark metalic green with gold metal flake.  It was pretty but the paint was chipping off.  This car had all it's original sheet metal. The sad thing is I totaled it. That was the hardest lesson I ever had to learn.  That was my baby, I loved that car. I sold off what I could and kept some things that I thought I could use later on anoter car and then the rest went to the crushers. Cry

After I put my new wheels on.

Below is not my car but a car that looked like my first Camaro when it was new from the factory.

My second 1969 Camaro, I bought for $1000.00. Will like the old saying goes "you get what you paid for", sadley this car was a rusted mess. It was black with the SS package. If I remeber right this was a Norwood car. I don't know a whole lot about this car as I didn't have it for very long. There was too much for me to do. The quarter panels floors and trunk floor needed to be replaced. So again; I sold some things, kept some things and this car went with the green Camaro to the crushers.

This is not my car but looks similar to what mine looked like.

My third 1969 Camaro, This car was an LA built car.  It was factory Azure Turquoise with a black vinyl top and standard black interior.  I think the car came factory with a 350 Small block with a turbo 350 automatic transmission. It also came with a 10 bolt possi rearend, which I didn't know until after I sold it.  This car also has all of it's original sheet metal. I was after that car for several years. I left messages on the door of the guy who owned it for him to call me if he ever wanted to sell it.  Well, some how my parents finally got him to sell it.  So, I brought home the car, and tore into it.  All the interior came out and the paint was stripped and the vinyl top was removed.  Then it sat.  It sat for about 8 or 9 years.  I moved 70 miles from my parents where it sat, I just did not have time or the money to work on it.  When I was between jobs I finally had some time to work on it, my father and I did quite a bit of body work, he primed it and we put it back to gether and then I sold it.  I have to say, there were several people to look at it, but I'm glad I stuck with my asking price, which was  only $ 4500.00; it really wasn't a lot. But finally, a really super nice guy who I'm still friends with bought it.  His name is Bob. The picture that was taken in 2006 was taken by me.  My mother and I took a trip to visit him and his family and to see what he had done to the car. I couldn't ask for a better person to sell that car too.

You will have to see the site I made for him to see what the car looks like now.  In fact he is doing more work on it with upgrades.  It is schweet!!!  Check it out; go to http://bobs-first-love.20megsfree.com .

Below is not my car but looks just like it when we          As of 2001 just before I sold it to Bob.           AS of Sept 2006, after I sold it to my Friend Bob.

bought it in 1991

Okay so now my fourth 1969 Camaro.  In this case the fourth time was the charm.  My mother bought this car from the original owner. It is an LA/Van Nuys built car. It came factory with a 250 6cyl and a turbo 350 automatic transmission. She was very plain. It was factory Cortez Silver with dog dish hubcaps. It had standard black interior, and she has all of her original sheet metal. The original owner for some reason "god bless her" as she pasted away not too long after she sold the car.  But, she painted the car a Lite blue.  Bluck!!!!  I was a cheep paint job as well. So needless to say; she needed a new paint job.  It was a very hard decision for me to choose a color.  I had a pole that I set up on my original webiste for people to vote for three different colors.  They were Silver with black stipes, Yellow with black stripe and Blue with black stripes.  Well as you can see below; Silver and black won.  I am very happy with it.  I had a long time friend do the body and paint.  He is really well know in my home town.  He did an awesome job on the car; unfortunately it took a while, but in the end it was so worth it the wait.  I chose a slightly darker color than the original Cortez silver, I went with a color from a Honda S2000, they also had this color on the later model Camaros as well. It is called Silverstone. The Black stripes are from a Toyota. It is very pretty.  And Rick (he is who painted it) as a suprise to me added a slight hint of metalic to make the black sparkle.  It is very suttle, not over done at all; it's perfect.  I love it.  As you view the pictures I will be adding below, you will see all the new up grades I am doing to this car.  She is going to be a very nice Z/28 Tribute car.

The fifth 1969 Camaro was a car I picked up not to long after I sold the third one to Bob.  This was an RS/SS. I'm really not sure what size motor it had.  Unfortunatley this car was in about the same condition as the second car.  There was multiple areas of rust that was way more than my budget could handle.  This was a Norwood built car. I picked this car up mainly for it's parts.  I wanted the factory cowl induction hood, the 12 bolt possi rearend, and several other things.  This car came factory with standard black interior a center dash clock and center console gauges. It also was an automatic. It was coded as an X11 with the D80 which means it came with the spoiler front and back. This car was lucky, I turned around and sold it instead of sending it to the crushers.  I just hope that the guy who bought was able to do something with it.

So that's about it that I can remember at the moment regarding my 5 Camaros. If I think of more I will add it later.
